My current daily efforts include mostly frontend development with Svelte, TypeScript, Tailwind, and REST APIs. I'm responsible for planning out requirement implementations, ui/ux design, feature development, and integration. While some of my work is public and open source, this effort is not.
I've also recently spent time upgrading MapCache Desktop, an Electron / VueJS application built to run on MacOS, Windows, and Linux. I was tasked with updating the framework to the latest versions of NodeJs, VueJS, Electron, and all supporting libraries. This involved updating both the frontend components and backend implementations to handle the latest changes, along with reworking the build scripts to deliver the product on all three supported plaforms.
I spent a fair amount of time designing and developing Android and iOS applications. One example was a complete redesign of MapCache android, which uses the OGC GeoPackage spec to manipulate feature and tile layers to display them on a map.
UI Design is a skill I've been developing for a couple years, studying other designers and using Sketch to create some of my own original work. I've also been exploring how small animations and haptic feedback can enhance the user experience.
Most experienced in Java, and have learned to use others along the way: Android, JavaScript, Node, Mongo, Electron, Kotlin, PHP, whatever comes up. Since 2008.
A well rounded engineer not only designing and coding, but building complete products with Devops tools like Jenkins, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Git, Nexus, Fortify, etc.
